Refreshing fashion

Since Nerds 2 or E3 2011 summary will have to wait since someone got called for jury duty, I decided some refreshing fashion will have to tide us over...
or at least just some pictures of outfits I find cute.

How cute!

Who love calivintage.com? This girl! Was just introduced to it today and immediately fell in love.

How adorable is this? I love browsing curveappeal on tumblr.

And remember: smiling is ALWAYS in fashion.

A Polyvore wishlist

A wish list for now
A wish list for now by TuesdayRose on Polyvore.com
Here's my entry into the Polyvore wishlist contest:
Here's a few lovely items I'd love to get my hands on: a camera for my shutterbug mania, a vintage ring and glass beaded necklace for added sparkle and style, a peacoat in an amazing color to keep me cozy, gorgeous heels to strut about and a charming bag to keep all my goodies secure. Cozy, eclectic and fun.

Gifts for that vintage gal

For that vintage gal

For that vintage gal by TuesdayRose featuring a vintage earring
This one of many visual lists I'm making as gift giving guides for hard-to (and not quite so) loved ones. This one is for the vintage gal in your life. The one that covets antique baubles and flowy gowns. The one that adores sparkle and class.

Save the date

This such a cute and understated necklace from Charm & Chain.
I'd have my birthday stamped on mine.

What would you have on yours?

Currently loving

Not to toot my own horn here or anything, but I've always been complimented on my smooth complexion. And I'll admit, it's rare a blemish pops up on my caramel skin.

However, I do have a problem with dry patches and cracking, especially during the cold months. My poor hands get the brunt of all blows, leaving them absolutely pitiful looking after a day of work.

I'm also a bit of a consumer junkie and bright packaging and consumer promises have led me down some disappointing paths.
Thankfully, the last time I stopped by Target I wasn't disappointed with what I picked up.

Sweet and unassuming, I've glanced at and walked by these products many a time, not thinking too much about it. Yet, when I was hovering around Target Pharmacy, I noticed a travel-sized container perfect for testing out this cute and intriguing product.

And I wasn't disappointed.
The container says deliciously rich and, for once, the packaging isn't lying! The body butter feels lovely on my skin. (as a matter of fact, I'm currently running my fingertips across my cheek because of how silky this makes my skin feel)
And the scent isn't overly pungent. It's a floaty, airy sweet smell, not unreminiscent of carrot cake...

Now if only they offered lip balms, I'd be able to feed my dry lips....

Oh, holy carrot cake! They do!

Speaking of carrot cake.....

Shoe porn: the nude edition

With Spring around the corner, shoe retailers are bringing out their neutral colors in full force. A with good reason; have you seen some of the new tasty footwear?
Is it getting hot in here?  ::cue 70s porno music::

Here are some of my favorite neutrals from Piperlime's collection.

Go nude with your tans, browns, champagnes and beiges!

Shoe porn

I love these!
They're feminine, quirky and cute!

A rose for Rose, of course!

Cute and full of kitch; who can resist?

I love the soft, suede look of these. They have an air of Victorian era class.

Snuggles

Happy Turkey Day to my fellow U.S. readers!

While enjoying a bounty of good food, here are some very cute and snuggly cowlneck sweaters.

I love the classy yet sweet look of these.

Against all better judgement, I watched a video of live birth.
This was my response.

When in junior high school, my sex ed class watched a video of live birth.
And people wonder why I don't want to get pregnant, ever.

Lovely

Speaking of jersey dresses...

Holy crap! I love this one!
Look at the style, the detailing. It was love at first sight.
I'm not too crazy about the color, but I'm willing to oversee that. Some mustard and brown Oxford heels would be adorable with this.

Imagine sauntering into a room wearing this little number.
I'm loving the purple; the black seems to expected and predictable for a dress like this.
As is, the dress doesn't need a necklace to pair with, but silver chandeliers would be lovely.
Silky, silky, silky!

Sapphires

Right, after yesterday's gratuitous amounts of color and trite, I feel I must type a slightly more serious post.

I'll be taking my cats to stay with my parents for a few months, until I can get my hands on a place that doesn't frown upon my fuzzy children.
Not sure how they're (the cats) going to react to the move, but it is for the best. And a bit worried about the drive up; it's a 90+ minute drive to my parents place. The longest amount of time either have been in the car has been 15 minutes... if even that.

After receiving an offer for employment and ensuring my cats' comfort and safety, I can honestly say that I'm looking toward a future that's a lot brighter than it used to be:

I see myself moving into a pet-friendly place by April and once again living with my babies.
I see myself finishing the GRE and Praxis II and starting grad school in the Fall.
I see myself stable and happy and loved... a little less poor and a few pounds lighter. hah!

As I'm getting things ready to transport the kitties, I started getting flustered this morning.
That is, until I made a list.
Making lists doesn't make you OCD, does it?

Loving this little BCBG Max Azria tuxedo jersey dress.
I generally have a thing for jersey dresses; the drape, the feeling, the floaty-ness. But the cute detailing gives this dress a classic look.
I would wear this at any holiday party as well as any day I want to have a very dressy day.
Pair these with some sapphire jewelry and some strappy, jeweled heels and you're ready to go!

P.S. is it wrong that one of the main things I'm excited about, as far as working at a bank, is the bank holidays?

Show biz baby

Things that made me giggle today:
"... comedic gold! I tell you, these guys have a future in show biz, and by show biz I mean gay porn."

- long, black bead earrings, from Wal-Mart, I think
- silver ring with black (possibly lacquer) heart, my Dad gave to me Christmas about 12 years or so ago
- long, black stretchy shirt with beige designs, from T.J. Maxx
- long, black leggings, from Wal-Mart
- black ballet flats from Payless

I don’t think I’ll pair these two again: they show off my pooch too much. Perhaps I’ll wear the shirt with jeans.

Documentary me

So, whilst having a conversation with myself, I've decided to do something interesting.
A little project of sorts: I will photograph myself and list what I'm wearing ... for a whole year.

I'm not really sure what I'm trying to accomplish with this.... perhaps I'm just interested in documenting myself.

And it gives me something else to be committed to.

So, starting today, I begin to catalog myself:

- earrings: belonged to my mum, she got them in a shop in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. They're near as old as I am
- silver bangle with little details, I've had since I was 11 or so
- black, near-sheer collared shirt from Gap
- grey plaid trousers
- black, Oxford heels from Payless Shoes

Choking....

Nearly choked, today.
Alexander McQueen... in my Target?
Well... maybe not MY Target, but you know,... some Targets.

Check it out

Also, lack of good consignment shops sadden me.
However, great new tunes have been entertaining me past this.
