Smart list of poor

I must admit that the last few weeks have been pretty depressing...
And by that, I mean the last few months; at least as far as the money front goes.

I suppose I should start chronicling my spiral from slightly above poor to dirt poor. From having a little spending money to living from paycheck to paycheck, worrying whether I'll have enough to pay all of my bills.

The past two evenings, I've had nothing but rice for dinner. I added some butter, salt and seasoning to make it a bit more like a meal. Except for yesterday, when I was out of butter.
This morning, I packed up the leftover rice and it became breakfast. Perhaps, if I had put some honey on it, it would have seemed more like breakfast and less like a random meal.

Tonight will be pasta with some alfredo sauce I picked up the last time I was able to go grocery shopping. I'll have to half it, so that I can make another meal out of it. Perhaps, have half with the alfredo sauce and the other half with tomato sauce.

Speaking of grocery shopping, it has become official that I can only buy groceries once a month, so I need to start getting smarter with figuring out what will last.

This is the list of smart buys so far:
Peanut butter
Rice
Tuna
Crackers
Bread (while a necessity, won't last a whole month. Will need to be to replenish as needed)
Soy milk (stays good for months if you don't open it; so you could stockpile it until you need it)
Pasta (uncooked in box lasts for a while; cooked and unsauced lasts for 3-4 days in fridge)
Cereal (makes a good lunch/dinner substitute)
Oatmeal (same as above)
Canned fruit
Canned vegetables
Fresh fruit (to keep away scurvy and insanity)

Slightly reminds me of the Absolutely Fabulous episode "Poor," except less fun, less drinking and more sane.

Malaise

Sorry for the very poor lack of updates. I have no real excuse: lack of motivation mostly; I've been working/thinking up other projects.
That, and lazing about.

So, my endocrinologist appointment draws ever near and my feelings are somewhere between excitement, joy, nervous and fear.
Excitement - maybe I'll finally find out what's wrong with me
Joy - maybe I'll finally find out what's wrong with me
Nervous - maybe I'll finally find out what's wrong with me
Fear - maybe I'll finally find out what's wrong with me

There's two sides to this coin: they'll find out what's wrong and fix it/they'll find out what's wrong and can't fix it.

I'd also like a drop off in the amount of pills I have to take everyday.

My general malaise mostly comes from money..... or the lack there of.
I'm only living in slight comfort because anything that isn't a bill, is being paid with a credit card that's slowly getting maxed out. My eBay and Etsy sales are near non-existent. And my creativity had dropped of dramatically.

:/
But I'm alive, and that's the best I can ask for.

Blargh!!

So, I had full intentions of going to New Orleans today; there's a Huey Lewis and the News free concert going on. But due to lack of funds, high gas prices and the fact that I haven't won the lottery, I'll just be sitting around here for the day.

Hell, I've got just $100 to my name for the next three weeks. At least, I've got groceries and entertainment. And the bills are paid off.

On an annoying note, I woke this morning, not to the sound of an alarm, not to the sound of a phone ringing, but to the sound of a basketball hitting the ground over and over again.
Extremely peeved, partially asleep, I glare out my window to see a man running up and down the parking lot in front of my window and my neighbor's window, dribbling a basketball.

It's 8.30 in the morning, and someone's playing basketball, in front of my window.

And I couldn't get back to sleep. I'm that kind of person, the kind that can't sleep once awakened. And I hate it.

I could have vaporized that man with my glare.
