Falling Whistles

Giving to yourself is great,
giving to others is magnificent.

A few weeks ago, I was stunned to the point of heartbreak when I stumbled upon Falling Whistles.

A video starts as soon as the page loads and tells a story that begins with a simple journey and ends with the traveler's world never being the same.

Falling Whistles gains its name from the whistles that fall out a young boys' hands. Young boys that had been sent to the frontlines of war in the Congo.

As a symbol of protest, engraved whistles (and apparel) are sold and 100 percent of the proceeds go to helping war-affected children of the Congo.

When I received my whistle in the mail, I felt like I had done something to make the world a little safer, a little better. Making someone a little happier... even for just a little bit.
